Object Permanence Terms & Conditions
-
Object Permanence Records LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides small-run vinyl record manufacturing services. By placing an order, you (“client”) agree to the following terms.
-
We strongly recommend submitting final audio and artwork together at the start of your project.
Orders will not enter production until all required materials have been received, including:
Final audio files
Final artwork files
Completed project form
All production timelines are dependent on:
Timely submission of materials
Prompt responses to approvals, edits, and communication
Delays in client response will delay production.
-
The client is responsible for providing:
Final audio files in the required format
Final artwork files meeting provided specifications
Accurate project details, including track sequencing and designation of Side A / Side B
Clients are required to fully and accurately complete all project forms and submission materials provided by Object Permanence.
Failure to provide accurate track sequencing or project details may result in production errors for which Object Permanence is not responsible.
-
All orders move through the following stages:
Audio Engineering & Mastering → Client Audio Approval → Cutting → Plating → (Optional Test Pressing) → Production Pressing → Packaging → Shipping
Clients will have an opportunity to review and approve audio after mastering and prior to cutting.
-
The average production timeline is approximately 8–10 weeks, beginning once all required materials are approved.
Timelines are estimates and not guaranteed.
Timing depends on:
Client responsiveness
Production volume
Material availability
Manufacturing variables
Specialty vinyl, custom packaging, and fulfillment setup may extend production timelines.
-
Test pressing is optional.
Orders of 100–500 units: $150
Orders of 550+ units: $100
Test pressings:
Are produced in black vinyl only
Use Object Permanence branded center labels
Do not include final artwork or vinyl color selections
Their purpose is to confirm:
Track order
Transitions between songs
Beginning and end of each side
These elements are also reviewed and approved during the audio engineering process.
Clients will have the opportunity to review audio digitally after mastering and prior to cutting. This is the primary stage for identifying and correcting any issues.
Changes requested after cutting will require a new cut and will incur additional costs.
Test pressing extends the overall production timeline and is typically unnecessary given the digital approval stage prior to cutting.
-
If a test pressing is selected, clients may request changes after reviewing the test pressing.
However:
Any changes at this stage require a new lacquer cut and new stamper production
Additional audio adjustments or mastering may also be required
These changes will:
Incur additional costs
Extend the production timeline
Test pressings are provided to confirm playback and sequencing. They are not intended for iterative revisions.
Clients are responsible for reviewing and approving audio during the digital approval stage prior to cutting, where changes can be made without restarting production.
-
Full payment is required upfront prior to production
ACH is the preferred payment method
We do not offer third-party financing at this time
-
Once production has begun, the following stages are non-refundable:
Audio engineering
Cutting (lacquer / stamper creation)
Plating
These processes involve irreversible labor and materials.
-
All required materials, including audio and artwork, must be submitted before production begins.
If required materials are not submitted within 12 months of the order date:
The order may be considered abandoned and cancelled
In such cases:
Completed administrative or preparatory work may be retained
A partial refund of any unused balance may be issued at our discretion
-
Stamper Production
Each stamper typically yields 500–1000 pressings
Orders of 500 units or fewer: 1 stamper
Larger orders: additional stampers produced per ~1000 units
We recommend 2 stampers per 1000 pressings for optimal consistency
Additional stampers produced at time of order: approx. $60 each
Additional stampers produced at a later date require a new cutting and plating process at full cost
-
Standard: stampers held for 30 days after production
Optional extended storage: $39 fee
Extended storage duration: up to 1 year from last pressing
If extended storage is not selected:
Stampers may be recycled after 30 days
-
Orders ship upon completion of production and packaging
Tracking is provided when available
Risk transfers to the client upon shipment
Shipping insurance is included in all orders and has been incorporated into product pricing.
Object Permanence is not responsible for loss or damage occurring during transit.
